Mickey Brownies

prep time: 15 mins  cook time: 20 mins  total time: 35-40 mins
The most decadent, fudge-y brownies in all the land.

ingredients:

      Brownies
  • 1 Cup Unsalted Butter
  • 2 1/4 Cups Sugar
  • 1 1/3 Cups Flour
  • 1 1/4 Cup High Quality Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 4 Large Eggs Room Temp
  •  1 TBSP Vanilla Extract

     Chocolate Glaze

     1-2 Cups Chocolate
1-2 tsp Coconut Oil (or Vegetable Oil)

instructions:

  1. Preheat oven at 350ºF.  Grease an 8"X8" Square Pan.
  2. Combine Flour, Sugar, Unsweetened cocoa, salt and baking soda and set aside.
  3. Melt Butter on Low in Saucepan. Once melted, remove from heat and add sugar.  With a spatula, mix sugar and butter until all of the butter is coated.  Return to heat for 30 seconds to dissolve sugar.
  4. Add sugar/butter mixture to bowl and let cool 2-3 Minutes.  Once cool, add eggs one at a time and whisk until just incorporated.
  5. Sift flour mixture into sugar/butter/eggs and fold with spatula.  Do not overmix.  Bake for 15-20 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Remove pan from oven and chill for 30-60 minutes.  This makes it easier to cut and preserves that yummy flavor.
  7. Cut into desired shape and put on cookie rack over a pan or wax paper.
  8. For the Chocolate Glaze, melt chocolate and oil, be careful not to burn!  Allow to cool slightly and cover brownies.  Add desired sprinkles and let sit until firm to touch.  Enjoy!

NOTES:

I recommend using a high quality cocoa, it makes a huge difference. I use Callebaut brand. Results are best with ingredients at room temperature.
