A Star Wars Birthday

It's happened, my oldest is in his last year of single digits!  I remember before he was born, I thought I may never have babies, but he came and brought 3 more sisters with him, haha!  Atreyu is named after one of my favorite movies, The Never Ending Story (80s Nerd!) and he is such a smart, inquisitive and normal smart aleck boy.  He loves anything Star Wars and this year he picked this theme although it'll be his 3rd Star Wars party!

We had fun making some “Jedi” themed snacks and treats. Here are a few examples that we did:)

One of the things I am grateful for is that through my many years as a professional cake artist, I am now able to create some pretty fun cakes for my kids. My skills have definitely grown over the years and I'm happy to share what I've learned on this blog.  When I'm not planning vacations for clients, I am using food as my creative outlet:)

This is his cake!  With tiers of BB 8, Darth Vader and Chewbacca.  We had the chance to meet Darth Vader and Chewy this month at Disneyland Resort and I had to include them somehow.  This is by no means a totally original design, just a hodgepodge of multiple designs I've seen put together.

Happy Birthday Buddy:)

For fun, I put together a short time lapse video of me creating his Star Wars cake.

I hoped you enjoyed this post.  If you want to see more of these type videos and/or tutorials, comment below!!
