1. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
This year was probably my hardest one (so far). I hand-made each and every costume besides buying bits and pieces here and there. It took months to plan, and to be honest, I'll never do this again😜 I am by no means a skilled seamstress and I learned a lot, but it was too much work for this mama. So here we are! My husband was the Wonka Bar, I was Veruca Salt, my son was Willy Wonka, my oldest daughter was Violet (the blueberry) and my twin girls were Oompa Loompas. We definitely got a lot of attention and I made us go to every party I heard of because I put so many hours into them😂
2. Alice and Wonderland
This was a no-brainer as Alice in Wonderland is on the top of my Disney list of favorite movies of all time. I just got bits and pieces throughout the year and put it all together at the end. My dress was found on Amazon as well as my daughter's Alice dress and my husband's Mad Hatter Costume.
3. Star Wars
This year I was very pregnant with the twins (about 1 month to go), so knowing this I planned to be the Death Star, my son was a Storm Trooper, my husband was Darth Vader and my daughter was the cutest Princess Leia.
I can't wait to show you what we're doing this year!!
Other Ideas I've thought of:
- Superhero Family or Incredibles
- Baker and Cupcake
- Super Mario Brothers
- Nightmare Before Christmas
- Wizard of Oz (still on my bucket list)
- Inside Out Characters (Sadness, Anger, Joy, Fear, Disgust)
- The Addams Family
- Circus Family
- Traditional Halloween Characters (Frankenstein, Dracula, Ghost, etc)
I hope this gives you some ideas for your family costume this year and come back and share what you did in the comments below!!
